CERTIFICATE OF GOOD STANDING AND EXISTENCE

 

Occasionally, you may need a Certificate of Good Standing or a Certificate of Existence. These state-issued documents confirm that your business has met its statutory requirements and is authorized to do business in New Mexico. Sometimes these certificates are required by lenders, banks, or potential investors. Depending on your business type, you can access and print a certificate online or request a certificate using a form you can download online.

 

Certificate of Good Standing - Corporations:

To obtain a Certificate of Good Standing, access the New Mexico Secretary of State website by selecting the CORPORATIONS AND BUSINESS SERVICES link. If you have not created an account, select Create User Account. NOTE: The account you create belongs to you, not the business.  After you have created a login account, select Corporation from the top horizontal menu, and select Certificate of Good Standing from the pull down menu. Look up your business; and print the certificate.

 

Certificate of Existence - Partnerships:

To obtain a Certificate of Existence, access the New Mexico Secretary of State website by selecting the CORPORATIONS AND BUSINESS SERVICES link. If you have not created an account, select Create User Account. NOTE: The account you create belongs to you, not the business. After you have created a login account, select Partnership from the top horizontal menu, and select Certificate of Existence from the pull down menu. Look up your business; and print the certificate.

 

Good Standing and Status Certificate – Limited Liability Company:

To obtain a Good Standing and Status Certificate, select the GOOD STANDING AND STATUS CERTIFICATE link, select the Certificate of Good Standing Request Form link to download and print the form. Complete the form and mail it with the fee to the address on top of the form.
